Allium 'Globe Sensation'
A medium allium standing 50cm high. Lilac purple, early summer flowering. Great round spheres, often two to a bulb, that hold well.
Allium "Globe Sensation" was introduced in 2008, bred from our own stock by a Timaru grower, then developed further here at Bannockburn Floriculture.
"Globe Sensation", a cross between A."Globemaster" and A."Purple Sensation", has produced a plant with excellent flower colour and form. An added bonus are its bold shiny leaves which remain green throughout flowering. This makes it well suited for a high-profile position in the garden: spectacular seed-heads further extend the display.
