Trilliums at Bannockburn
This may seem counter-intuitive, growing woodland plants in Central Otago, but it is a perfect example of Jane Preston's "give it a go" attitude.
Large clumps of Trillium chloropetalum, which came from Stewart Preston, were divided and re-planted in shadehouses situated under mature trees. An underground stream keeps the area moist during the growing season.

After much trialling the flowers are now being successfully sold for export - quite possibly a world first.
